Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law has been ranked 5th amongst the Law Colleges of Private Universities across India. This ranking has been based on the survey conducted by ‘Flair Talk’.

Our College has been ranked 6th in the category of Excellence & ranked 5th in the Northern Region in GHRDC Law School Survey. This ranking has been based on survey conducted in 2017 by Global Human Resource Development Centre Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi. In the current year in Jan.-2018 Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of law, S.V.S. University, Meerut is ranked in top 25 Colleges in Law story of aspire India Today.

Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law has the objective of fulfilling the vision of our great leader Sardar Patel of providing quality legal education in India. The institute aims to build on the conventional ethos of India and to create a temple of learning. It aims to impart quality legal education and to organize advance studies and research in all branches of law. It provides a strong foundation to the law students in building up their legal career and provides them with an understanding which is necessary to succeed in the legal profession.

The institute seeks to promote multi-disciplinary analysis of the socio-legal problems by designing its course structure and teaching methods and methodology in realization of its objectives. The methods of imparting education adopted by the learned faculty members in this institute varies from lecture method, discussion method, case law analysis, seminar method to power point presentations, moot court training project assignments, free legal aid camps and internship programmes. In addition, it organizes seminars on contemporary socio-political-legal issues, conducts clinical courses and trains students in legal research and legal writing. Conduction and participation of our students in Moot Court Competitions is another specialty of Subharti Law College. Even eminent Lawyers, Judges and Law Professors are time and again invited for delivering lectures as guest faculties to enhance the knowledge of our students and to guide them towards a healthy path.

By the time our students complete their course they become fully equipped with the required subject knowledge and practical experience in the field of law to become full-fledged responsible members of the legal fraternity.

Scholarship and Financial Aid Offered : As per the university norms

The institute provides its students, which fall under the category of SC/ST/OBC, scholarship from social welfare department of U.P. Government. For facilitating them in this regard it has also established a ‘Scholarship Committee’ which helps the students to complete formalities for the same under the guidance of faculty members.

The institute also provides scholarship to meritorious students, who get a percentile starting from 70% and above in their last attended educational institutes.

a) Class Rooms:

Subharti Institute of Law has spacious and well-furnished classrooms with necessary infrastructural aids such as Over Head Projectors, LCD projectors, white boards, microphone facilities for each class rooms in order to have an effective communication and interaction with the students and to facilitate class room discussions between the teacher and the taught.

b) Library: A Learning Resource Centre:

‘Books are a man’s best friend’ and with this theme the Subharti Institute of Law has established a big library which is its soul and which plays a significant role in all learning activities. The Law College library is located on the ground floor and also extends to the 1st and 2nd floor. It is spacious enough to cater not only to the existing needs but also has resources for future requirements. The college keeps on making a continuous effort to update and add to the present resources. The study resource material includes choicest publications of text books, reference books, law reports, digests, encyclopediac manuals, journals, legal magazines and the like. It also receives different national and international journals besides newspapers and magazines on regular and periodic basis. The library is so exhaustive that research scholars, students, eminent faculties from other universities and institutes visit our library for reference. Apart from this the library has a capacity of accommodating 100 students at a time. The library follows an open access system wherein a student can access the books they want to refer directly from the shelves. The library also has a computerized database from which one can surf any book with the help of the library staff, who are well-equipped to provide necessary guidance and assistance to the students.

c) Computer Lab:

Computer facilities form an integral part of any institution. The institute has a sophisticated by-equipped air conditioned computer lab which is fully equipped with adequate number of terminals with latest configuration and more than 30 computers with internet connectivity for efficient use by the students, faculty members and staff. The institute is wi-fi enabled with 24x7 internet connection.

d) Moot Court Hall:

Subharti Institute of Law has a Moot Court Hall designed more like a courtroom for the purpose of conducting Moot Court Competitions. It helps the students in perfecting their legal analytical research and writing skills that practicing attorneys must have. By participating in these activities, they become proficient in arguing in front of the judges to become more confident public speakers. The Moot Court Hall is also used for various other competitive activities held at Subharti Institute of Law.

e) Legal Aid Clinic:

Subharti Institute of Law has a separate well-furnished room to provide legal aid to the needy. The institute has already established this legal aid clinic since its establishment. The institute is providing free legal services in its campus and at different places by organizing legal literacy and awareness camps for the persons belonging to the categories concerned under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987. The students visit Lok Adalats in District Meerut and also do voluntary service of litigants there.

f) Affiliation with NALSA:

Subharti Institute of Law is having its affiliation with NALSA, i.e., National Legal Services Authority, which helps in providing free legal services to the weaker sections of the society. Law College in collaboration with NALSA also takes part in the organization of Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.

g) Ragging Free Campus:

Subharti University provides ragging free environment at its campus. For this purpose, it has constituted an ‘Anti-Ragging Cell’ which ensures the compliance of the Anti-Ragging Ordinance No. VII(6) and to monitor the activities of Anti-Ragging Squad for prevention of ragging in the University. To fulfill the said purpose, Subharti Institute of Law has established an ‘Anti-Ragging Committee’ in the college itself comprising of both students and faculty members. The main objective of the cell is to maintain and take action on abuse of ragging and to organize a sensitization program to prevent the menace of ragging inside the college premises.

h) Hostels:

There are 14 hostels in the campus Subharti University including 2 NRI hostels. It has separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostels maintain strict timings of entry and exit. All hostels have a resident warden and also a chief warden for the proper management and care of the students. These hostels have the facilities of attached vegetarian mess, air coolers/ air conditioners as per the demand of particular students, 24x7 hot and cold water supply, 24x7 power supply, free internet connectivity through wi-fi, in-door games such as Table Tennis, Carom, Chess etc., Badminton and Volleyball courts, Television room, Study room, Hobby room for music and dance.

i) Medicare:

Subharti University is very vigilant towards medical care of its students. The campus, therefore, provides a medical and dental hospital with 24 hours emergency and ambulance services. The students are examined for a basic check-up as soon as they join the college and later on in case of any need/emergency they are provided with the best medical services. Both these hospitals are equipped with the latest and most modern equipments required for best patient care. The hospital provides round the clock medical, accident and trauma care. It also provides OPD and IPD services in General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Paediatrics, Dermatology & Venereology, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Rehabilitative Medicine and Respiratory Medicine, besides super specialty clinics in Plastic Surgery, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Neurology, Immunology etc. The hospital fulfills the social responsibility by serving the community through implementation of various National Health Control programs like Blindness Control, NRHM, Blood Safety, AIDS Control, Mental Health Programme and conducts out-reach health and blood donation camps.

j) Internet/Wifi/Telecom Facility:

Subharti campus is Wi-fi enabled campus. Students can also use the cyber café situated in the campus for wider connectivity and accessibility of internet for their use. A cyber café is also available in the Central Library where students can access the internet to broaden their prospective.

Pay phone and fax facility are also available for all for easy and convenient communication.

k) Sports & Fitness:

Subharti University besides providing quality education also keeps an eye on the fitness of its students and, therefore, it provides for a huge playground where students can indulge in playing Football, Cricket, Volleyball and other outdoor games. It also provides for separate gym for girls and boys to keep them physically and mentally fit.

l) Banking Services:

To facilitate students a branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce has been set up in the university campus, which offers all kinds of national and international banking facilities, including education loans to students on easy terms, if desired by them. Apart from regular banking services, there are three Banks ATMs (Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank) in the campus to facilitate access to bank accounts for round the clock cash withdrawal facility.

m) Canteen & Cafeterias:

Subharti University offers an excellent choice of hubs to eat within the campus. It houses six canteens which offer multi-cuisine menus ranging from Indian to Continental and Chinese in a modern and hygienic ambience, with one canteen exclusively for girls. For snacks, juices, beverages and other Indian and Continental fast foods, there are three modern cafeterias in the University campus.

Consumption of hard drinks and drugs are strictly prohibited. Offenders are punished as per University norms.

n) Transportation:

Subharti University provides for free and easy access of transport upto the city of Meerut and way back to the campus. There are buses from the University which run daily to and fro from the campus. They carry the staff members as well as the students for their easy and convenient travel.

o) Security Services:

Students studying at Subharti Institute of Law hail from different parts of the world and this University take safety and security of the campus as an integral part of its educational mission. Subharti University engages 24x7 high-end, in-house security services for the safety and security of national and international students studying on campus. There is a special separate security force for girl students with a helpline number. There is also a 24x7 full-fledged cell for the protection of women in the campus which is named as ‘Cell for Protection against Sexual Harassment of Women’.

p) Media:

The media cover the students’ activities which take place in the campus. When Subharti Institute of Law organizes its inter-college annual fest, fresher and farewell parties, talent hunt show, sports events etc. then the media is invited to cover the event and publish the same. The media even conducts talk shows and interviews in which it invites the law students for the performance of their talents.

Subharti Institute of Law has its own training and placement cell. Our students have done internship with senior lawyers of the Supreme Court and various High Courts in India, with reputed MNCs, NHRC, SHRC, Law Commission etc.

The students also got placed with MNCs, pursuing litigation with senior lawyers of the Supreme Court and various High Courts in India. Some have also opted to pursue LL.M. course. The LL.M. students have also been placed with reputed institutes as Lecturers and Assistant Professor.
