About the Test

  • NMAT-2014 is a computer based test with three sections – Quantitative Ability, Language Skills and Logical Reasoning.
  • NMAT-2014 consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s Language skills, Mathematic skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency and Intelligence & Logical Reasoning skills.
  • NMAT-2014 is a 2 hour test containing multiple choice questions. There will be a 2 minutes NDA, 10 minutes Tutorial and 3 minutes Section ordering screen.
  • NMAT-2014, has three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The three sections of NMAT-2014 are individually timed and candidates need to answer the sections and review the questions of that section within the allotted section time. Once the candidate moves out of a section, there is no possibility of returning to that section for attempting or reviewing the questions.
Section No. of Items (questions) Allotted time
Language Skills 32 22 mins
Quantitative Skills 48 60 mins
Logical Reasoning 40 38 mins

If a candidate chooses to answer NMAT-2014 in the sequence – Logical Reasoning, followed by Language Skills and then Quantitative Skills, the candidate should spend the allotted section time of 38 mins in answering and reviewing the Logical Reasoning section. Once a candidate moves out of one section because of section time getting over or the candidate choosing to move to the next section; there is no possibility of coming back to the previous section, Logical Reasoning in this case.
