About the Test

  • NMAT™-2015 is a computer based test.
  • NMAT™-2015 is a 2 hour test containing multiple choice questions. Additionally, there will be a 2 minutes NDA, 10 minutes Tutorial and 3 minutes Section ordering screen.
  • NMAT™-2015 consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s Language skills, Mathematics skills, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency and Intelligence & Logical Reasoning skills.
  • NMAT™-2015, has three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The three sections of NMAT™-2015 are individually timed and candidates need to answer the sections and review the questions of that section within the allotted section time. Once the candidate moves out of a section, there is no option of returning to that section for attempting or reviewing the questions.
Section No. of Items (questions) Allotted time
Language Skills 32 22 mins
Quantitative Skills 48 60 mins
Logical Reasoning 40 38 mins

If a candidate chooses to answer NMAT™-2015 in the sequence – Logical Reasoning, followed by Language Skills and then Quantitative Skills, the candidate should spend the allotted section time of 38 mins in answering and reviewing the Logical Reasoning section. Once a candidate moves out of one section because of section time getting over or the candidate choosing to move to the next section; there is no option of coming back to the previous section, Logical Reasoning in this case.

So, candidates are advised to take NMAT™-2015 as a collection of three "individually timed” sections test and they need to perform their best in each of the sections in the allotted section time. Candidates should note that the balance time of one section doesn’t get added onto the next section. Therefore, candidates should be fully sure of themselves before moving on to the next section.

  1. NMAT™-2015 Scaled scores by section and exam total scaled score will be displayed on NMIMS website within 4 to 5 weeks after the test. The percentile scores will be announced on 22nd January, 2015 at NMIMS website www.nmims.edu.
  2. In case of candidates taking more than one attempt the best score which is the total score & its respective sectional score, which make the candidate eligible as per the cut offs declared by NMIMS, will be considered for short listing for subsequent process.

NMIMS will use email ids with extension “@nmims.edu” or "@pearson.com" for all official communications.
